We are dedicated to expanding the frontiers of life-saving techniques through our comprehensive suite of First Aid, CPR with AED, and BLS Provider courses. By nurturing and teaching future BLS and Heart Saver (CPR) Instructors, we aim to instill a culture of confidence and comfort in administering critical care. Our ultimate goal is to foster a community where everyone is equipped to save a life, because what better way is there to save the world than by ensuring we can save each other?”

John Gibson
Founder & CEO

John’s journey in the fire services has been nothing short of remarkable. His dedication and expertise have taken him to some of the most challenging environments, including Iraq, where he played a pivotal role in emergency response and fire safety in austere conditions. This international experience has not only broadened his perspective but also enriched his understanding of the diverse challenges faced by fire and emergency professionals worldwide.
Currently serving as the Assistant Chief of Training, John is a driving force behind the development and implementation of training programs within the department he currently serves. John is a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), a testament to his expertise in emergency medical services. In his relentless pursuit of professional development, John is actively engaged in advanced fire service courses, ensuring that his knowledge and skills remain at the forefront of the industry. Furthermore, he is in the process of obtaining his National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Instructor certification. This certification will enable him to teach Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) courses, critical skills for emergency responders in high-threat situations.
John’s vision is to create a culture of continuous learning and facilitation of obstacle free education. He believes that by investing in training, we can save lives and make our communities safer. John’s pursuit of excellence does not end with his professional accomplishments. He is a devoted husband to his extraordinary wife, Danique, and a loving father to their two daughters. His family is a source of inspiration and strength, grounding him in the values of compassion, dedication, and service.
Steven W. Finley

In addition to teaching, he also enjoys being a student. Steve passionately pursues and prioritizes continuing education and medical training to maintain his National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification. He holds Instructor certifications with the AHA, Red Cross, HSI, and NFPA. He graduated summa cum laude from Columbia Southern University with a BS in Fire Administration and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business from Waldorf University. Steve truly believes that early CPR and emergency cardiovascular care saves lives. This sincere fact is strengthened every day by his work in Southern Arizona, witnessing how many lives are saved when a bystander intervenes before the arrival of emergency services. The potential is limitless when people have the knowledge and know-how to provide quality CPR. Since accepting the position with S² Integrated Solutions, he has trained dozens of instructors, provided countless hours of training, and directed the company to be a recognized brand amongst defense contract companies, local organizations, and his community.
Josh Tunstall

Introducing Josh Tunstall, one of the founding members of Valiant Pursuits, a leading provider of EMS instruction and fire safety consultations and seminars. With 15 years of dedicated service in the fire department, Josh has built a distinguished career as a well-respected and highly motivated fire officer. His extensive experience and unwavering commitment to public safety and education have made him an invaluable asset to both his community and his profession.
Josh is renowned for his exemplary leadership, always leading his team from the front and setting a high standard through his actions. His leadership style is characterized by his ability to inspire and motivate his team, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. He believes in the power of leading by example and is always the first to step up, whether it’s on the front lines during an emergency or during rigorous training sessions.
His passion for hands-on training and his ability to get his hands dirty make him a training machine who thrives on developing new training practices. Josh’s innovative approach to training ensures that his team is always prepared for any situation, and his commitment to continuous improvement drives him to constantly seek out new methods and techniques. He is particularly adept at creating realistic training scenarios that challenge and prepare his team for the unexpected.

Danique Gibson

Danique started her career as a virtual assistant, expertly managing social media and administrative tasks for a multitude of businesses. Over the past 6 years, she transitioned into an elevated role as a Client Success Manager for two companies, where she honed her exceptional talents in client relations and business management. Danique speaks four languages—Dutch, Spanish, English, and Papiamento—which is a huge benefit to Valiant Pursuits and our clients, enhancing communication and service across diverse communities.
Now, Danique has decided to bring her expertise to Valiant Pursuits, joining her husband John Gibson and the other founders, Steven W Finley and Josh Tunstall. As a Curacao local, born and raised, Danique’s deep ties with the community and her professional skills are invaluable to our success not only in Curacao but around the world.
Due to her close proximity to our highly trained founders, Danique has developed a passion for EMS instruction and has become a lead instructor for our CPR courses. Certified by the best, she is now a first-tier, top-notch instructor who takes tremendous pride in her work, giving everything she has to her students.
Somehow, Danique manages to excel in her professional life while being an amazing wife and mother to her two daughters. Her family values are core to who she is, and she shows this in her professional life by welcoming all new clients and students as if they are family.
